
This weekend hundreds of Lancaster County residents turned out for nine different Black Lives Matter actions all across Lancaster County, from Quarryville to Millersville to Lititz.
We protest for the same reasons that we vote and volunteer. We know that to win long overdue real and lasting systemic change, we have to get ourselves organized into a force that can apply and sustain pressure. Now in this critical moment in our nation’s history, it’s time for us to get clear on our next steps together—our path forward—from today through the November 3rd election, and beyond.
In the midst of one of the largest nationwide uprisings in US history, with the COVID-19 pandemic still unfolding, and with the November 3rd general election looming, what is our path forward together? What can we do with this vehicle we’ve built together—Lancaster Stands Up—to make the biggest and most strategic impact? What should we prioritize? What is our path forward to November and beyond?
